Some say he is crazy, but when magician and endurance artist David Blaine decides to break the world record, you will be sure that it is going to be ‘Electrified’! Blaine’s latest feat ‘Electrified: One Million Volts Always On’, where he will be wearing a custom designed metal body suit and a wire helmut, he is allowing one million electricity to zap around his body for 72 hours, without food, sleep or sitting down.

Seven Tesla coils will be firing bolts of electricity through the air on to his suit, creating a visually stunning spectacular. His sponsor, Intel, has made it possible for millions of fans around the world to interact with him through twitter and Ultrbook stations set up in cities around the world. Interactions made by the fans through these channels will directly affect the environment that Blaine is in, changing the rhythm of the electric bolts, keeping him alert and awake at all time.

This is not the first time he has done life-threatening stunts of this kind. Some of his past feats include standing encased in a massive block of ice for 63 hours, stood on a 100-foot tall pillar for 35 hours, sealed in a Plexiglas case for 44 days without food, holding his breath under water for 17 minutes.

Some of you may ask why on earth would he be doing these things? Just like many Guinness Book record holders, constantly pushing the boundary of what we all think is possible.

“The only limits that human beings truly have to face are the ones we impose on ourselves. If I can reach inside of myself and remove the boundaries that we learn as little children, then unlimited possibility exists in all of us.” – David Blaine.

What do I think? I think a lot of people give up a little too easy sometimes when they know they can push themselves, not even to the limit, but just that little further to achieve their goals, or even the impossible. What is impossible anyway? Impossible is only a limit that we have set for ourselves, like David has said, if we reach inside ourselves and remove those boundaries, we become limitless. Despite what other people think of him, he has been and always will be my inspiration to do my best in whatever I do, keep pushing to achieve the impossible.
